Are we experiencing crisis fatigue?

Starting this post with a big old trigger warning: war, transphobia, pandemic. If you find these topics to much to read about, best to skip this post.
Hi HEROes,
There's a lot going on at the moment inside and outside the LGBTQ+ community. The wider world can seem overwhelming enough: war in Europe, the climate crisis and wild swings in politics are just a few of the issues we're collectively facing. For queer people things have also felt hard for a long while. The pandemic has been especially challenging for LGBTQ+ people who are at risk of isolation and loneliness. Transphobia rearing its head in a very public way in recent years has brought with it huge challenges and a societal landscape that is intensely stressful for many. And now we're facing yet another crisis within the community: the spread of monkeypox which although it still in its early stages, has quite a lot of us feeling stressed.
These events don't exist in a vacuum, and the pressure they put on us as a group can add up. Over time, we can begin to feel like the merry-go-round of queer life is just one dodging the path of one difficult event only to be slung right into another and even though the effects of long-term national or global events aren't felt as acutely as things that happen directly to us, they make a difference.
That's why it's so important that we try to take care of ourselves, and of one another, so that we can maintain our wellbeing, even when it feels like the difficult events around us are stacking up. Having some honest conversations around how we're feeling can be a first step to acknowledging if we're feeling a burnt out by it all.
So that's what this week's thread is about: crisis fatigue. The picture below for verywellmind gives a description of crisis fatigue, do you think this applies to you? How can we help support one another and make life and the information we're exposed to more manageable? Share your experiences and tips with coping in this thread!
