Hi and thanks for your post. From reading your post you have clearly had a very difficult childhood and adulthood with lots of uncertainty and not being accepted for who you are, which will affect general mental health and well-being. I'm glad you have reached out on this forum and taking steps forward to live the life you deserve and need.
Being told what to do and having to fit into a heterosexual world is not healthy for anyone. I too was trying to do this, fitting-in, for many years until I started to build my network of friends, seeking support over the phone and in person, reading more about LGBTQ+ lived experiences and trying to live my life as authentically as I could, really helped. I just took one day at a time.
Not sure if this helps but I also (and still do) focused on my daily self-care www.lgbthero.org.uk/pages/category/self-care - I have also found new networks through 'meet up' www.meetup.com and tried events I am interested in through Eventbrite www.eventbrite.co.uk
Sounds like Christmas was a tough one for you. I hope you are back in your own place now where things may feel calmer. A chance to unpack some of your feelings.
Please may I ask are there any local LGBTQ+ groups near where you live ? Or perhaps other groups that may interest you, whether these are online or in-person?
Not sure if you have been able to but would you consider talking through some of this i.e. LGBT SWITCHBOARD. Please see some links below and let us know how you get on.
LGBT SWITCHBOARD switchboard.lgbt 0300 330 0630
Open 10:00-22:00 every day

Here's a survival guide for Xmas that may be worth reading too www.lgbthero.org.uk/how-to-get-through-christmas
Hope that helps
