Last week I ran a music listening Zoom at LGBTQ HangOuts centred around Joy and what Joy means to us. A really fun session, where we discovered lots of new music and shared stories that we all connected to.
I was chatting to Sam, LGBT HERO's Community Fundraising and Engagement Officer and he said "What's one thing that gave you Queer Joy last week?". This made me think about how for the first time in nearly 40 years my nails have grown (yes I have a habit of biting nails!) and, I decided to file my nails for the first time (found this rather relaxing) and I am looking forward to perhaps adding some colour! This thought of colouring was a small moment of Queer Joy to me. I'm thinking of starting off with black or very light pink. Maybe a rainbow of colours for LGBT History Month! I'll let the nails grow a little longer first.
