I'm a 47 year old male and I identify as bisexual, although I'm yet to have an experience with another male. I am definitely attracted to both. I've been with my wife for 32 years now and a couple of years ago asked her permission to pursue a gay experience. This, unfortunately, didn't go down very well. I don't want to go behind her back but am getting desperate it's driving me crazy. I wonder if anybody here has managed to negotiate an open relationship and is everyone happy?

Hey,
I've been in a similar situation myself. I've always thought I was bisexual, but I've not have a sexual experience with a woman and it's driving me crazy to the point where I think I could be lesbian. My partner knows about this, and it was his idea for me to experiment with a woman to get it out of my system. When i started talking to a woman, he wanted to be a bit more involved which i didn't want, and he wanted to know what we were talking about and i felt a bit awkward telling him. In the end he got quite jealous before I actually slept with anyone, and it wasn't really working for him, but I'm grateful he gave it a try.
Depending on how it went down with your wife when you told her, she may be worried of losing you as you're looking elsewhere for something she can't give you. This is exactly how my boyfriend felt, he wanted to be the one to give me everything I wanted and was a little hurt when I told him i wanted something else as well as him, so I can understand both sides. If you can, try to talk with her about her reaction, but open relationships aren't as easy as they look, and boundaries are really important! Would it be a one time thing? or would you want to regularly see a guy? Maybe if your wife knew more about it she would be willing to give it try.
I hope this helps in a way?xxx
