Hi there, I hope this message finds you well. I am from the LGBT support team. Thank you for your message. From my understanding, it seems that you are having a difficult time figuring out what gender you identify with. I can see how this can be difficult as gender is such a large and complex spectrum filled with so many different identities. Hopefully, I can offer you advice that will give you some peace regarding gender. From my own experience, I also struggled with labeling my gender. To me, gender was always a form of expression; a way in which I can truly convey who I am as an individual. But the expression was just one piece of the whole puzzle. Being able to label my own gender identity was hard for me. I didn't know where I fit in or where I should fit in. Because there are so many labels, it feels like there is a choice overload in where you should belong. However, I hope that I can offer some advice on what you can do. When it came to my gender, I struggled a lot in coming to terms with what I truly identify as. I understand that growing up can be a difficult process. Not being able to fit in in certain social settings or having society tell you to behave a certain way because of the stress from gender is a process a lot of us go through and can be hard. However, you should not think that you figuring out what gender you identify is just "doing it for attention." You are completely free to decide how you want to identify yourself concerning gender. You have all the time to decide what your identity is. I will offer some amazing sources below to guide you on this process of gender. Moreover, talk to a friend or family member who you feel comfortable sharing your story with. I get it can be awkward to talk about sometimes, but your friends will be there to support you no matter what. Here is a helpful guide to gender identities: www.lgbthero.org.uk/guide-to-gender-identitiesHere is a great article on being non-binary: www.lgbthero.org.uk/being-non-binaryI hope that the information above was helpful to you. Please let us know here at LGBT hero if you need anything else. We are here to help. Remember, no matter what happens there is always a place where you can get the support you need. Sincerely, Navi
