My son and daughter are 26 and 27 respectively; they were adults, and extremely supportive when I Came-Out. In our combined family of 12, they and their spouses are the only straight members; the rest of us (eight of us) are all lesbians. My kids even call me "Mom", just as my partner, who never had children, calls my mother "Mom". My partner's sister and her partner each have one teenage daughter; even though just one of them is my partner's niece, my partner and I consider the to be "our nieces", so we still get a taste of parenting.

Hi,
I’m Katie. I’m a bisexual woman and married to a man. We have three children, a girl age 5 and boy-girl twins age 2. It’s chaos!

Katie, how accepting is your husband about your being bisexual? And how will you two feel if your children follow your lead when they are older?

So far my husband has been really supportive…he just says that as long as it doesn’t effect our relationship it doesn’t worry him. He is a bit confused as to why I haven’t figured it out earlier in my life, but other than that, he’s ok with it. Which is a bit relief for me.
In terms of the children, I just think they are who they are and we will love them no matter what. I haven’t told anyone else I’m bisexual, but I really wanted to tell my husband because I want to be able to have honest conversations with the kids if it’s something they want to talk about at any point.
