So I thought i was nonbinary for a bit and came up with the name Ash. But soon while accepting that i was actually a trans guy, that name made me kinda dysphoric so i kinda just took a more masc version as a placeholder, which was Asher. but the placeholder kinda got stuck on me because school started so that was the name i was using. i never loved that name though and i kinda just went along with it. i really want to change it but 1: i cant find names that i really like and 2: i dont wanna confuse people by changing it again. especially because ive been dating my bf ever since i went by my deadname and i know its totally confusing for him lol. anyways, if you guys have advice and name suggestions please feel free to reply :-) and a description of me for name ideas?

- im desperately tryna pass as male lol

- i have really fluffy brown hair
- i have bright blue eyes

- im really pale
- i wear round wire frame glasses

i want a name that kinda rolls off the tongue. also i want one thats pretty masc but not stereotypical white guy name. my last name starts with a B

Picking a name for yourself can be very stressful but it can also be very exciting. I can tell from your message that you want a name that reflects who you are and how you identify. As a moderator my role isn't to tell you what name to pick. I can however point you in the direction of others going through this same stage in their life. Their input might be of interest.

Maybe talking through your choices with someone might help? If you're under 25 you can call Mermaids, which is a charity for young trans and gender nonconforming people (0808 8010 400) or Switchboard which is a helpline for LGBTQ+ people (0300 330 0630). They're both non-judgemental and will gladly listen to what you have to say. Sometimes just having someone to speak to can help us get past some of those trickier moments life throws at us.

Yea unfortunately my parents monitor my phone activity better than the friggin FBI haha (they have an app that takes screenshots of what im doing and records phone calls lol its greeeeeat)I think I'll wait on the name thing till next year because then I'll be going to a different school (my parents are pulling me out cuz it had a GSA, but the next school is bigger and has a bigger GSA shhhh they don't know) thank toy guys for your advice though :-)
