Hi Rusty dusty It's a lot dating, flirting, casual intimacy. I'm glad you found a space to rant! I think your experience of being queer but mostly being with cis het guys is common. I don't know where you live, but if you can attend queer spaces that are overtly for trans and gender non conforming people you will meet a lot of people who you could be compatible with. My gf thought coming out would mean her dating life was over, and there was me secretly with a crush on her. It sounds like you do a great job of meeting people, and working out what their flirting means .... minefiield. I think having been through very similar stuff to you all I can say is be confident and if you drink alcohol don't drink to get confident. You might find THIS guide from THT helpful I also want to address that you said your friend assaulted you. I'm so sorry that happened, especially from someone you should have been able to trust. If you want to talk more about it here please do, but also you can talk to Switchboard LINK HERE they have a phone line and webchat or Galop LINK HERE who specialise in sexual assault. Good Luck! Avo
