Hi all
This is not about me, but someone I love very much ...and I am very supportive, but I feel useless to help My son is transgender he doesn't mind he or she ,when he's out he fem ,and is beautiful, about a year ago when out with friends and fem ,some thug punched her so hard ,she was knocked clean out ,police knew who it was a was arrested...thug has done this multiple times ...police did not treat it as a hate crime Ok fast forward to recently thug plead guilty considering he's done this before and whilst on a curfew which was broken he got CBO...thanks to his homophobic/transphobic/ a...Hole of a lawyer (his twitter is full of hatred) It was reported in the paper and described this beautiful human as a man in a dress..obviously we were on it emailed and said our part ,,the editor claimed we were wrong ..but changed the headline only .this has effected her badly to the fact, been thrown into a depression, off from work because of this article..it took years of struggling with gender /sensuality and still struggling but this is the worst we have seen Was wondering if there is legally anything we can do Plus I don't know where to start to help ,she's extremely private person so doesn't share with us much . I just don't think it's fair that they could be allowed to say these thing without any repercussions Thanks for reading

thats really messed up. like, everything about that situation sounds awful for both your child and you.
1) a guy knocks someone out for literally just being themself 2) that guy apparently does this multiple times? not only is it direct physical assault, now its deliberate and targeted physical assault 3) the police should have 200% treated that as a hate crime, it checks literally every mark. because not only was it violent actions against a marginalized person, its repeated and targeted at this innocent person. its one of the most obvious hate crimes that could be noticed by any normal person even if it was in an underground safe in Antarctica 4) getting out of the punishment for any crime is super messed up, that should not have happened 5) a lawyer should not have been biased, they really need to give better background checks 6) "man in a dress" is so rude to say, these people suck
overall, yea thats all transphobia. i hope your kid feels better soon
