This is a genuine question.
If a transgender person transitions from one to the other, and changes their Christian name, then do they change their middle names too?
I was thinking of Elliot Page. Page's middle names are Grace Philpotts, Grace usually being taken has a feminine name (Grace Jones, for example).
But when Page tranistioned into Elliot he kept those names.
I'd be intersted to hear people's take on this.

Hi James. I guess changing the names that you feel comfortable with is what matters. As part of someone's transition they may wish to change their name. Some people may just do this informally amongst friends, in your educational or work setting, at the clubs and interest groups you’re part of. Sometimes trans people have a bit of an experiment with names before settling on one that will become permanent enough to change their name on documents. Again though there is no rule around the amounts of times you change your name. So if you change your name and wish to change it again then you totally can! hope this link helps >> genderedintelligence.co.uk/projects/kip/transitioning/name.htmlBest wishes

Hi. There is no hard rule when it comes to names.
It's entirely up to the individual why and how they change their names.
I've been through 2 seperate name changes by deed poll in the past 5 years.
The first time, it was to feminine first and middle names whilst retaining my family surname.
The last time was to a unisex first name with both a feminine and a masculine middle names and a change of surname.
I have considered reverting back to my birth surname, but the admin stress of changing names and gender with official documents, government departments, bank, utilities etc etc was enough twice and I really don't want to go through all that again.
Also, if you need a DBS for work, if you are not out to your employer, you could be outed as the names will all appear on your DBS certificate unless you contact the sensitive information team 'before' submitting the application.
