I feel like i am a woman and i enjoy being one, i am a lesbian and i know that for 100% certain. But...i also feel like a gay man? I CANNOT imagine having sex with a man as a lesbian woman...but as a gay man i can? Ever since i was entering puberty i have felt this way, i even confessed to someone that i 'felt like a gay man' and they laughed and said "thats not possible". But is it? To be both a lesbian woman and a gay man in the same body? Am i genderfluid? is there a name for this??

Hi Sally, thanks for your post and welcome to LGBT HERO Forums. Sounds like you are on a journey of discovery and sometimes labels are important to us and sometime we are just navigating a way through to our authentic self. It's healthy that you know you enjoy being a woman and that you are 100% Lesbian. To also feel like a gay man is perfectly fine and writing, talking about these feelings is important to us all; they can help unblock any confusion. You may want to identify yourself as genderfluid, which might make better sense to you. Below are some useful links for you. For me genderfluid refers to a person who may not identify themselves as having a fixed gender. From my own personal experience I found sexuality and sometimes gender identity and expression confusing but by talking abut my feelings in a safe space (Counselling, Therapy); or simply attending a social support group it helped me to unpack and connect with others). Perhaps consider attending a social support group or speaking to a LGBTQ+ well-being person (over the phone or booking an appointment) may work? Also, reading others people's stories or relevant books could be a start too. Hope the above helps a little. See some useful links below and I wish you well.
