10 December 2023 marks the 75th anniversary of one of the world's most groundbreaking global pledges: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). This landmark document enshrines the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being - regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. www.un.org/en/observances/human-rights-day ( I would add the terms sexuality, gender etc)If you had a Bill of Human Rights for yourself what would the top 5 things include? Here is my own top five, for me: 1. Not to be discriminated against. (No hate crime, no hate incidents etc) 2. Not having to explain my sexuality or existence to other 'straight' people. 3. To live without fear of verbal or physical violence just because of what I feel comfortable wearing and my understanding expressed verbally about who I am, authentically and free. 4. To be listened to when asked an enquiring questions about my sexual health and wellbeing and not be judged by this. 5. To be allowed to be married wherever I choose to. Look forward to hearing your own Bill Of Human Rights.
