Hi all.
It's been a month since my last update and I just thought you'd like to know what's happened.
So I've been having regular skype meetings with a great counsellor and a couple of face to face. She has helped me figure out quite a bit and I'm in a really great position so much so that I finally came out to some friends who didn't know. They were a bit shocked but been very supportive. They have told me that if my family do not accept me that they will support me. I'm happy about this. I am no where near telling my family but it's great to be in a place where I can finally be myself with my friends. On another note I have had a couple of dates! Yes... I know! Dates. They didn't work out but it's a big step for me.
Again I just want to say thank you for being there for me and pointing me in the right direction. I feel so much better about myself. I hope anyone reading my journey can feel inspired to do the same.

@debbie I can't express how happy I am that things are coming together for you. Nothing ever happens all at once but these are such amazingly positive steps. I remember coming out to my friends was a huge relief as well because it was part of my everyday life where I didn't have to pretend any more. Great news that they're supportive. And remember, in addition to them there are organisations out there that can help you in the event that your family aren't understanding.
You're a true inspiration. If you need anything more, don't hesitate to ask. And please, keep the updates rolling!

Hi all.
It's been a minute since I've updated you and a lot has changed.
I'm out! And proud. My family knows, my friends know, my work people know. And it's fine. It's so fine. All the fear and doubts I put on myself were for nothing. And guess what? I HAVE A GIRLFRIEND!!! It's early days but it's amazing.
I can't thank you enough, OutLife and you Justin for helping me along the way. This service you provide is special. I hope many more can find this and that you can continue to support others aswell.
Thank you.
Debbie... not a Downer anymore.

Wow, I just looked back at this whole thread. I can't believe it's been a year already!
UPDATE COMING!!
Life has turned 180 since I first came to these forums. I was down and out. I thought I was doomed and then I came here. I poured out my life and you listened. You gave me advice and pointed me in the right direction. If it wasn't for that guidance I don't think I would be alive today. And what does today look like? Well, I'm still in a relationship, I'm in love! My family know everything, they have met Kate and they love her. We have adopted a pet....... spider (bet you thought i was going to say cat) and called it Outtie after OutLife helped me so much. Life is pretty great.
Thank you for being there OutLife and to you Justin and to everyone who invested so much thought and effort into me. You really did save my life.
Happy Debbie.
PS, I do plan on getting more involved in these forums. I need to give back!
